Iittala Ultima Thule White Wine Glasses, this range was inspired by the melting ice in Lapland, Tapio Wirkkala originally created the surface in the 1960s after carving into a graphic mould. An exclusive design reflecting the thousands of hours spent perfecting the glass-blowing technique required to produce the effect. The patterns gradually change as the glass burns the surface of the wooden moulds. The Ultima Thule range was originally created for the First Class Cabins in the Finnair Helsinki - New York route and is still used to this day. This very Scandinavian design is still as relevant today as it was in the 1960's.
