Iittala Aalto Finlandia Vase Clear 25.1cm
The Aalto vase has become one of the world’s most famous glass objects, deservedly synonymous with Finnish glass art and with Iittala. Alvar Aalto created the Aalto vase in various shapes, sizes and colours for Iittala for the World Fair in Paris in 1937. It is exhibited in some of the world’s most influential design museums. The fluid shapes are said to derive from the Finnish landscape and its lakes. This vase isavailable in a stunning shade of pink or emerald green, grey, which will look great with any flora and fauna arrangements or simply standing alone. Due to the tall narrow shape of the Finlandia vases and the way the glass folds, it is one of the easiest vases to cup and dispaly tall flowers beautifully. The vases are hand-blown using traditional techniques, and may therefore contain tiny bubbles. Hand wash only.
It takes seven crafstmen, 12 work stages, 100 celsius and 10 hours to prdouce a single Aalto vase., they have unwavering pride, these craftsmen are commited to bringing Alvar Aalto's unconventional shapes to life!
