'Hygge' is a word we are hearing more and more at the moment and this book will explain why, we all need some 'HYGGE' in our lives! Hygge is a Danish concept that is embraced by all the Nordic countries and is fast becoming something we all want a little of here in the UK. The Nordic countries always come top of the polls for the best quality of living and for the most happy people... could  'hygge' be their secret?  Signe Johansen is a Norwegian cook and author of several books including the well loved Scandilicious baking and Scandilicious Cooking books, also available at Cloudberry living.

A longtime whisky enthusiast, she is the co-founder of 'Spirited Women', a project to get more women into whisky and other spirits. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in archaeology and anthropology from the University of Cambridge, she trained at Leiths School of Food and Wine in London, worked in several of the UK's top restaurants and went on to do her masters in the anthropology of food at SOAS Food Studies Centre at the University of London. She has appeared on Kirstie's Handmade Christmas, What's Cooking and Sunday Brunch. She lives in Bloomsbury, London.

Signe explores the culture of hygge, she shares the secrets of Nordic living, showing ways to adopt these elements into your daily life wherever you are in the world and with little effort. Hygge, roughly translates as 'cosiness', it implies warmth, conviviality and community. How to Hygge has 50 delicious recipes from mouthwatering bakes for Fika, a ritual that involves coffee and cake to Nordic winter salads, savoury delights and also some great spirit recipes for those that love a little tipple... fancy a boozy malty creamy hot chocolate? Beautiful photographs and chapters on how to enjoy the great outdoors in true nordic style and how to achieve a sense of wellbeing and community within our lives by little simple things, that make all the difference to the quality of the now and everyday moments. All with the added touch of her favourite tipple of whisky too. For those of you that love the Scandinavian design heritage and their style, Signe shows you how to achieve that Scandi - cool interior in your home. Hygge covers all aspects of our lives and Signe looks at each one with great warmth, insight and delight. I think we really need to embrace 'hygge' and all try to nurture our mind, body and soul by living life a little more Nordic.
